Miss Clynell Cooper, 91 was born on July 13, 1925 in Quincy, Florida to the late Sawdus Porche and Alice Gainous and departed from this life November 16, 2016
Clynell was a longtime member of The Havana Congregation of Jehovah's Witness in Havana Florida. She graduated from Steven High School in Quincy, Florida. She later married Sylvester Cooper in 1942 and moved to Gainesville where she studied to become a dietitian. She worked for Shands University Hospital as a dietitian until she retired at the age of 70.
Clynell leaves to mourn and cherish her life, her only child, daughter Hattie Jane Richardson; grandchildren: Tony Woods, Patricia Pete, Clynell Gary, Melvin Pete, Linda Joyce Pete, Virginia Joyce, Frederick Pete, Tina (Tim) Coleman, one sister Edith Washington of Quincy, Florida, two brothers Anthony (Maggie) Porcher, and (James (Jettie) Porcher, 17 great-grandchildren 11 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Sylvester Cooper, son-in-law, Silas Richardson, brother Carl Porcher, three sisters, Velma Hicks, Zapharine Hicksmen, and Amy Acre.
The family would like to send special thanks to Hospice, RCIL, and Dr. Jane Sampson for their outstanding service and care.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday November 22, 2016 at Friendship Baptist Church, 1004 Albany Street, Utica, NY 13501 from 11 to 12pm. Funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00pm.
