Obituary of Barbara Ann Smith

Mrs. Barbara Ann Smith, 75 of Utica, NY went home to be with the Lord, September 10, 2017 with her family at her side.

Barbara was born to Earnest Williams and Dora Ball on October 4, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan.  In her early years, Barbara and her family relocated to Utica, NY where she met Jimmy Smith and later married.  From this union, was a daughter: Candy Greem (Tampa, FL) and James Williams (CA).

Barbara loved to cook and more so, shop with her sister whenever time permitted.  She was employed at Faxton-St. Luke’s Hospital and gave joy to all those she met during that time.

Barbara leaves to mourn and cherish her memories: her children, Candy and James; her sister: Annie (James) Voss of Utica, NY; grandson, Vincent Green as well as a host of other grandchildren; niece: Sonya (Miklos) Bryant-Baugh (Upper Marlboro, MD); nephews: Victor (Jill) Jordon Voss (Utica, NY); Jazmon Voss (Amsterdam, Netherlands); Michael Voss and James Jr. Voss (Utica, NY); sisters in-law: Peggy (Ernest) Robertson; Bernice Hickey, Bertha Robertson, Doris Wuyley and Estella Ebens; special friend:  Joann Buchanan.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband:  Jimmy Smith; parents: Ernest Williams and Dora Ball and two grandchildren:  Delonda Candy Green & Antoine Williams.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciate to all those who have expressed their condolences during this time of grief.  The family would like to acknowledge a special nurse, Karen Bumbalo, of Faxton-St. Luke’s, who treated Barbara with amazing dignity, respect and care.
