Obituary of Umali Ali Phillips

Umali Ali “Marley” Phillips, 43 of Utica, NY was born on December 16, 1974 in the Bronx, NY to Charles and Helen Phillips.  Charles was called home on March 8, 2018 after a strong battle with cancer…God knows best.

Charles grew up in the Webster Projects and was educated in the Bronx until he relocated to Utica, NY in 2000.  He loved video games, Chinese Shrimp fried rice, cabbage and some good baked Mac & Cheese, video games and his favorite colors were black & red. 

Charles was a wonderful man, father, son, brother…etc.  He will be dearly missed.  He is survived by his mother, Helen Smith; brothers: Charles Phillips, Jr., Genghis Phillips, Thedius Love; sisters:  Vanetta Phillips, Amirh Phillips, Fanta Garland and Payosha Phillips; his children: June Umali Phillips, Raaya Phillips, Kamiya Phillips, Keshawn Phillips and Alianna Phillips and his fiancé, Shyanna Howard and her four children: Zakiya Ball, Xzavier Ball, Jesiyah Ball and Ramair Howard; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Umaili was a blessed soul and he will never be forgotten…
