Obituary of Larry Woods

Mr. Larry Woods, 62 of Utica, NY passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 30, 2018. Larry was born on May 11, 1956 in Utica, NY to the late Dorethea Hunt and James Brown, Sr. Mr.  Woods was educated in the Utica school district and a graduate of T. R. Proctor High School.  

Larry, a loving father and grandfather, always had a kind word to share with family and friends, especially his close friends of many years.  You never left his presence without a smile on your face or the sense of laughter twinkling in one’s eyes.  His daughters clearly held a special place in his heart.  
Larry, worked at General Electrics and a majority of his paycheck would somehow find its way to Oberman Men’s Clothing store.  When speaking about Larry, one of the first things that would come to mind was his appearance.  Known for his attire from the top of his head to the tip of his toes, never an item out of place or not matching.   The other thing that would come to mind when speaking of Larry would be the cleanliness of his home, which he learned from his mother, along with the art of fishing. 

Larry, had a strong faith and belief in the Lord, which carried him through some of his weakest moments and carried him home to be with those who have gone on before him. 

Larry leaves to cherish his memories, daughters:  Noel Woods and Kimneisha Brown; sisters:  Connie (Milton) Boddie, Velma Woods and Dale Hunt; brother James Brown, Jr.  and father James Brown, Sr.; grandchildren:  Tyvon Reed, Zyquan Reed, Ymajinae Woods, Unijia Lawrence, Derrick Walton, Dy'ata Walton, Trevon Brown, Jadah Brown, Kiara Wilson, Kimora Brown, Tre'Veon Brown and Ja'Veon Brown, close friends Gary Washington and Ernest Brown, as well as a host of uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. 
 

Larry was predeceased by his mother Doretha; brothers: Nova Lee, Robert and Ronnie and sister Mary. 

The family would like to acknowledge and give thanks to all those who have reached out to them during this time of loss.
