Obituary of Reverend Jeanette Davis

Please share a memory of Reverend Jeanette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Reverend Jeanette Davis was born January 1, 1934 in Florella, Alabama to her parents, the late Mr. Fred and Grace Goynes.  She passed from this life on January 29, 2019.  She was placed in the care of her Grandmother, the late Deaconess Mary Lilly Brown, who both later relocated to Utica, New York and this became home.

Reverend Davis was raised in the beauty of Holiness and a member of the House of God Church, Keith Dominion, a dedicated worker in God's house, doing Kingdom Building Work.  She was the Founder and President of the Noon Day Prayer Band, under which many men and women turned their lives over to the Lord.  A dedicated Organizer and President of the Cornhill Children's Choir, President of the Junior Usher Board from the Utica, New York House of God Church to the West Palm Beach, Florida House of God Church.

Reverend Davis was predeceased by her husband, Mr. Ernest Davis; two sons: Charles McCovery and George McCovery and two granddaughters: Denise D. McCovery and Shaunta Morgan.

Jeanette leaves to celebrate her life: oldest son, MacArthur (Gloria) McCovery; caregiver and nurse, her granddaughter Latasha M. McCovery; as well as a host of grandchildren, great grands, great great grands and goddaughters Loretta Johnson and Patricia Frazier.

Reverend Davis's son, MacArthur would like to honor these amazing people that brought so much "Love" "Joy" and "Laughter" into his mother's heart:  Mr. Robert Flagg, who she claimed as her little brother, Carrie (Patty Duke) Wright; Rose Billingsley; Debbie Washington; Cynthia Smith; Jackie Warmack and Joann Buchannon, all of which she loved as her daughters.

Her nieces and sisters: Lucille Mallard, Priscilla Yancey, Elizabeth Knight, Shirley Reid and Dorothy Williams for the memories of so much love, joy, tears and laughter that they shared through the years. Ernest Brown, Kenny Robinson, Elder Lester Parham and State Elder Harold Haygood, that she adopted in her heart as her sons.

The "Family" counts it all joy to thank everyone for each of your acts of kindness, love, words of comfort and prayers for strength during this time.  God bless you all and keep you in all in perfect peace.
