Obituary of William Lacy, Jr.
An athlete and fisherman, William Lacy Jr. was called home February 20, 2019 at 10:45 am. William was born in Utica, New York on April 13, 1967 to Aida M. Santiago Rodriquez and the late William Lacy, Sr.
William was educated in Utica, attending Miller School and Christopher Columbus Elementary. William graduated from Thomas R. Proctor H.S., where he shined as an athlete in track and field as well as football. He was an avid fisherman and loved to be on the water. One of his greatest prides resulted from catching a record breaking Bass that sustained its heartbeat on its hours long journey home. The pride and joy on his face found with his many trophies, ribbons and medals will be a lasting image for his loved ones.
After high school William struggled, but it was through his struggles that he managed to affect the lives of many by putting his wonderful culinary skills to work at a local mission in Buffalo NY. Through this work William reconnected with the Lord and developed strong faith and a desire to help others. His testimony helped many and his food not only nourished the body, it nourished the soul.
