Obituary of Margaret Ann Mims
Margaret Ann Mims, 65 of Utica, NY passed away unexpectedly on March 15, 2019 in the comfort of her home.
Margaret, was born on August 19, 1953 in Utica, NY to the late Joseph Breeding and Georgia Mae Walker.
Margaret was educated and graduated from the Utica School district. Upon her graduation, she received her degree from MVCC in Criminal Justice. Post MVCC, Margaret became employed by the Utica City School District as a Teacher's Aide.
Margaret volunteered with the AIDS Community Resource Group as a Peer Advocate. Along with her volunteer work, Margaret loved to laugh and make those in her presence laugh as well! She enjoyed writing poetry, singing, playing records (old school) and watching interesting movies. Another great passion was tobogganing in the Adirondacks. What brought her the most joy was to DJ – spinning those records.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memories, daughters: Anessa N. Mitchell and Leanna Munroe; three sons: Maurice Mims, Justin Bennett and Joseph Hill; eleven grandchildren, great grandchildren; great grandson; brothers and sisters: Anthony Stevens, Derick Mims, Belinda Stevens, Sheila Simpson as well as a host of nieces, nephews; special friends: Ann Shepard, Susan Ventura and Leonard Hires.
Margaret was predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Clarence Mims, LeRoy Mims, Joseph Breeding and Loretta Breeding.
