Obituary of George Lester

Mr. George Lester was born to his parents Mr. & Mrs Gussie and Rosa Lester on March 23, 1945 in Pineview Georgia, Wilcox County. 

In his lifetime George was as an entrepreneur, he owned many businesses, from trucking, restaurants, to an auto mechanics garage to name a few. He had a major love for automobiles and was the owner of many makes and models, he especially loved cadillacs. In his life’s journey he was able to build strong lasting relationships with those he encountered. He was known for his ability to help others get out of sticky situations.

On Tuesday June 4th, 2019, he was called home with the lord.  Along with his parents George is preceded in death by his siblings Mr. Gail Lester (Rosa Lee), of Georgia, Mr. Willie C Lester (Po Boy), Mr. Carl Lester, Mrs. Rosa Mae Lester, Mrs. Mattie Bell Bembry, Mrs. Ethel Coney all of Utica, NY, Mr. Earl Benjamin of Florida, and a daughter Mrs. Greta Williams of Ft Lauderdale, Fl.

He is survived by one sister Ms. Julia Mae Furlow of Utica, NY, A special niece Mary L Woodson (Joshua), of Vienna Ga., his children Lanette Lester -Wright (Joseph) of Utica, George Lester, Jr of Boston, MA, Winifred Lester of Vienna Ga., Willie Lester of South Carolina, James Lester of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., Jasmine Curry, and Tammy Tuff of North Carolina, Sonya Mason (Sherman), Michelle Williams, Jared Tuff, Thomas Shepard, Mark Brooks, Leroy Tuff, Nate Tuff, James Lang, Earl Lang, Calvin Lang all of Utica, NY, and Miles Lynn of Devenport, Fl. Grandchildren, Alyssa, Trixy, Shawn, Shelby, Keysta, Michelle, James Jr., Darlin, Chappell, TaShaun, Sapphire, Sarah, Raymond and Princeton.and 11 beautiful great grandchildren.

Viewing will be held 6-7pm, with funeral services to immediately follow 7-8pm on Saturday, June 8th, 2019 at T. Revel Gibson Funeral Home, 144 Eagle St., Utica NY, 31501, Minister J.W. Asbell will officiate the service and interment, Monday, June 10, 2019 at 1pm-1:30pm
