Obituary of Arthur Mitchell
Please share a memory of Arthur to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Arthur “Art” Bell, 58 of Utica, NY entered into the home of Glory on July 3, 2020.
Arthur was born on December 12, 1961, the son of Frank and Virgie L. Evans in Montgomery, Alabama, where he was raised and educated.
At the age of 28, he married his first love, Sylvia LaRose Bell in 1989 and from that union he became a stepfather to a beautiful daughter, Shimeen Nicole Bell entered the world. Sylvia entered into Glory on 1993.
Arthur remarried on August 14, 1998 to Elena Herrera and had the same joy to raise another daughter, Samantha.
Arthur…was a huge Yankee fan, if baseball was on and they were playing he was watching. Not only was he a Yankee fan but he was also a huge throwback cartoon aficionado, Looney Tunes, Jetsons, Top Cat and many more. He was also a huge fan of Tyler Perry/Madea movies.
A faithful member of the church with a powerful singing voice. A true comedian, the life of the party – telling anyone who would listen to his “stories”. When he wasn’t being a comedian, he would spend time doing arts and crafts – a man noted for his taste in jewelry AND for the thickest Kool-Aid, Pepsi, grape soda and his candy bowl.
Arthur leaves to cherish his memories his daughters Shimeen Nicole Bell and Samantha Herrera; three grandchildren: Jayden Bell, Jonnathan Mercodo and Geesenica Herrera; as well as a host of relatives and friends.
Arthur was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia Mitchell and his parents Frank and Virgie Evans.
