Obituary of James Ryan Freeman

James Ryan Freeman, Jr., 73 of Utica, NY gained his heavenly wings as the Lord called him home on July 18, 2023. James was born on April 14, 1950 in Utica, NY, the loving son to the late James Freeman, Sr. and Anna Titus-Oliver. James was a very talented young man who developed the love for carpentry and building things from scratch. He enjoyed working on people's houses and was a "Jack of all Trades". Drawing and painting was also a God given talent that he loved to share with his family and friends. One thing was for certain and two things were for sure is that James would help anybody to the best of his ability. James often traveled to Boston, MA where he spent a lot of time with with family and friends. Always happy to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. His motto was "No ob was ever too big for him t take on" and that's exactly what he would do! If he said he loved you, he did! And he loved you wholeheartedly. James loved all his kids, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and so-on. When you needed him he was like Superman and would just fly and come! James was a devoted father to Millicent, Rakiesha, James (JR), Anna and Terrance (Biggie); dear brother to Deborah Freeman, Ceola Oliver and Gerald Freeman; friend to daughter-in-law Princess and left to cherish his memories very special person and mother to his children Doris Griffin; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. James is predeceased by his brothers Maude Frances Leary, Martin White and Fred Oliver.
