Obituary of Michael Francis Hynes

Michael Francis Hynes, 66 of Rome, NY passed away on July 14, 2023. Michael was born on January 5, 1957 in South Ozone Park, Queens New York to the late Daniel Michael Hynes and Elizabeth Agnes Fitzsimmons, a twin in the family of eight children. He attended OLPH grammar school and John Adams High School. Michael enjoyed horticultural planting to create the beauty of a garden, cooking, eating fresh fruit, nature and animals (especially dogs and turtles). The love of dogs was because of their loyalty and unconditional love and turtles because although they are known to be slow you can never find them when you are looking for them. It is with this spirit that Michael strived to help and comfort those around him in need with selfless acts of kindness. Michael has now made the journey to join his twin brother Daniel and brothers John and Steven and his parents through the grace of God into the Kingdom of Heaven. Michael is survived by his sisters Alice, Barbara, Diane and Patricia who mourn his death and seek to empower through our words and deeds all that was good in Michael as he struggled to accept and forgive himself.
