Obituary of Lawrence Roy Styles, Jr.

Lawrence Roy “Larry” Styles, 47 of Utica, NY transitioned to his next journey on November 25, 2023. Larry was born on October 19, 1976 in Utica, NY to Lawrence Roy Styles, Sr. and Frances (Jones) Styles. Educated and graduated from Proctor High School in 2005. Basketball was his sport of choice. After graduating Larry went straight into the workforce. During this time, he learned that he had a passion for cooking. With that being said, he moved to North Carolina to attend culinary school. After graduating he moved back to Utica to begin his career. His last chef position was at the HK Restaurant & Lounge. When Larry wasn’t working, he was still cooking at home, playing basketball, music, attending community events and spending time with his family and friends. He was known as” The Life of the Party” type of guy. Left to cherish the beautiful memories are his children: Lawrence Chastine, Juwann Chastine, Naquality Styles, Akyah Washington-Styles, Ariana Styles, Lawrence Styles III, Tyler Styles, Jaden Styles and Alexis Styles; father Lawrence Roy Styles, Sr.; mother Frances (Jones) Styles; brother: John Phillips; sisters: Angela Jones and Shelly Peterpaul; grandchildren: Naquan Styles, Namaurion Lang-Styles; Quincy Washington; aunt Johnnie Mae Riggsbee and uncles: David Rigsbee and Lonnie Rigsbee; a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Larry is predeceased by his sister Juliette Jones and uncle Jack Styles. Larry has touched many lives throughout his years. Therefore, the family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude to all those who have stopped by, called, reached out and kept our family in your prayers during this difficult time.
