Andrea “Mighty Mot” Evans age 56 of Utica, New York went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 26, 2024. She passed away with her loving family by her side, at Wynn Hospital, in Utica, NY. Andrea was born on July 13,1967, to the late Sam Evans Sr. and Sandra (Greene) Evans. Andrea was educated and spent her life in the Utica area, where she touched many lives. She spent 30 years with her life partner, Albert Coan. Andrea loved many things, but her favorite was being a caregiver to those of all ages, especially her family. She loved going to her full-time job, which was playing Bingo, and loved it more when she won. Andrea loved playing cards and listening to her long playlist of R&B, Reggae and Gospel music. Andrea always loved being outside in her lawn chair, where family and friends could just pull up and have long conversations and laughs with her. Andrea found so much joy in family gatherings, special occasions, and special celebrations. She was famous for her Macaroni and Cheese and Smothered Chicken. It was always a treat for her family when she would prepare it for them to enjoy. Andrea is survived by her 2 brothers Robert Evans Sr. of Utica and Sam Evans Jr. (MiMi) of Columbus, Ohio. Her children, Barbara Linder, Desmond Evans, Derrick Evans along with Shirelle Conwell and Letisha Freeman. She also leaves her life partner Albert Coan. She is survived by her grandchildren Kareema, Nah'Jyah, Tumaini, Jabari, Joseph, Desmond Jr, Zaniyah, Jamila, Vienna, Anisia, Noah, Zion, Alaysha, Johnathan, Deshawnte, Rayshawn, Tahkasha, Amante, Jamel, and Diane. Andrea is also survived by her aunts Juanita Monroe of Utica, Dorothy Blair of Ohio, Rosetta Greene of Oneida, NY, Betty Greene of North Carolina and Archie Lee Evans of Utica, NY. Her special sister/cousin Diana C. Greene and her special nieces NieYetta Archie, Alexis Clark and Qiaja Evans. Also, her God daughter Ajanique Tolbert and her very special friend Tammy Linder. Andrea was predeceased by her mother Sandra Evans and her father Sam Evans Sr., her sister Veronica Evans, her maternal and paternal grandparents, and her nieces Shantay Evans and Tawanna Evans. Her aunts Sue Anne (Edward) Stevens, Carrie Brown, and Barbara Greene. Her uncles Ransom Evans, James, and Benjamin Greene. Andrea also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. The Evans family would like to give special thanks to Wynn Hospital 3 East ICU staff. They made such a difficult time a little easier through their kindness, compassion, and consideration. Andrea’s services will be held on March 1, 2024, at T. Revels Gibson Funeral Service Inc. 144 Eagle Street, Utica, NY 13501. The viewing will be from 4:00pm – 5:00pm followed by the funeral from 5:00pm – 6:00pm
