Obituary of Darryl Engram

Darryl Lewis Engram, 48, of Utica, NY passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, September 30, 2014 at the Rome Center Nursing Center, Rome, NY. He was the beloved son of Jim Wesley Engram and Laura Stenson- Griffin. Darryl was an active member of St. Matthews Temple Church of God in Christ. Darryl was a graduate of Utica City schools and went on to earn collegiate degrees from MVCC and SUNYIT. Darryl was an advocate for HIV/AIDS awareness/education, traveled nationally speaking at various venues. Darryl was an avid reader, loved to travel and was also known to be a trend setter. Darryl formerly worked for the O.C. Dept. of Social Services. Darryl was predeceased by his infant, oldest brother, Jimmie Dean. He leaves to mourn his parents, his brothers; David (Sabrina), Frederick (Hope), Wayne (Tonia), Rev. Steven Engram, Richard, Jimmie (Jessica), Sisters; Jill Livingston (Maston), Linda, and Kendel. He also leaves to mourn a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to Case workers Regina Brown, Abby Googin, and Maria Rijo for the special care that they have shown Darryl.
